The Santa Ynez Valley Bow Club's archery range is kept up through volunteer support. Members give their time to repair and maintain the targets that we all enjoy using. Many of the volunteers also help further by using some of their own funds to purchase supplies that go to upkeep of the range. The club generates its operating funds through shoots, major shoots like the dino shoot, and through donations. All membership funds go to the owners of the property and provide you with access to the property.
Please take some time to help your club out. All grounds maintainence, shoot planning and preparation, and target maintainence is done by volunteers. You can help by attending a work party on a Saturday.
If you can't make a work party you can still do some work on your own schedule. Some members will go out to the range to shoot and spend some time doing some maintainence. As a member, you have a say in what happens in the club. We still have several target huts that need rebuilding, trails that need to be maintained, and garbage that needs to be hauled out from time to time. There are many things you can do on your own around the range that will help keep it up and improve it.
Maintainence that can be done by any member:
- Take out the trash - If you bring it in, take it out.
- Weed removal - weeds in the shooting lanes, around target butts, and bow hangers can be removed at anytime.
- Remove dead brush around range and place on burn pile.
- Add carpet to backstop on 60 yard target on practice range.
Thank you. |
